What a year has not given you

Happy new year, happy new moon. We're all going to need a bit of mental fortitude to get through the next month, I'm guessing.
I've been endlessly busy with so many commitments, peoples' high expectations of myself, and dealing with my own mind that I've written almost nothing for a month. I think I am changing a little bit this year. Certainly many things I prioritised last year are no longer so much of a thing I want at all this year, and it's been valuable to learn about what priorities I have, especially now that I need to talk to so many people, and that so many people seem to rely on me, I just don't have so much time or energy anymore to be idly thinking about unnecessary things.
It's also been interesting to grapple with all the people coming into and out of my life -- and recently, more "out of", though mercurially it'll often still be a step inside the door for those people. I don't really mean to be so mean but I don't always feel like being able to make myself feel like myself when other things are going through my head. But I'm also beginning to value my alone time better.
But most importantly I feel like I've got more purpose and direction with where I'm going with my life, and I'm hoping this quiet confidence will get me through the next three and a half years of my double degree. It's quite interesting, I'm only now aware of what opportunities I want to take and how I want to live my life, and I feel much better for it, even if I seem to be so disjointed sometimes.
The last line originally read "You, without a doubt." But I don't think I'll lose you if I keep writing about you, haha! But it's probably closer to the truth still...
