The sky glows deep red behind Kapiti

Not sure what causes me to do this, but sometimes a switch just goes haywire in my head, without warning, without reason. And I feel unrecognisable, unnecessary, and a great need to just disappear. I don't know when these swings began in my life (I have my suspicions) but I feel unable to do anything about it. It feels much easier to go away than it does to see anybody.
Most strikingly, I catch myself lying in this state.
